Day #4 - God Hears Me When I Pray

Today is the last day of camp and we are sad to see it end, but glad to get to see our families!  We have talked about the story of Daniel in the lions' den and Hannah wanting a baby so badly!  These stories show us that God knows us so well that he can recognize our voices and hear us no matter what is going on. What a Great Big God we serve!!!

Right now we are finishing up lunch and crafts and then headed to pack up. We are excited to show the parents all we have leaned and experienced in our closing program at 2:00 today!!!!

Day #3 - Our Strength Comes From God

Today we have looked at two stories from the Bible that show us that God is our strength.  When we rely on God's strength and not our own, we can do great things!  What a great God He is!!

We have had so much fun this week getting to know each other and learning more about God.  The Lagoon and Pool have been such a blast and Fun Hour has had us rolling with laughter for sure!  Tonight we are doing our cabin skits for Fun Hour so we are all getting ready for that.

Day #2 - God's Way is the Best Way!

Today we are learning that we can trust God and that His way is the best way.  Even when we don't understand why...God's way is the best way.  Our lessons were from Joshua and Judges.  We talked about Jericho (A Great Big Crash) and Gideon (A Great Big Army).  We discussed how hard it is sometimes to do what we are told when it just doesn't make sense or we don't know why.  We need to trust our God who is always just, right and faithful!

Day #1 - God Knows What We Need

Camp has started and we are having a blast!  Yesterday we did our swim test right after all the parents left.  The kids did a great job of being brave and strong.  After swim time we spent some time in the cabins getting to know each other before diving in to Wild Thing where we sing crazy songs and get the wiggles out.  Dinner and Worship came next and it is always such an amazing blessing to hear the beautiful sound of our precious children praising our GREAT BIG GOD!  If you have never heard over 130 small voices praising God with Mighty to Save...it is a must do!  What a great reminder of why we do this thing called camp.  After Worship we headed to Fun Hour where we found out who was on our Team Building teams for the week and we made us some fun chants to represent our teams.  Shortly after we headed to bed.  What a first half day!  

This morning we woke up bright and early and headed to Flag Pole where we sang some fun wake up songs, read scripture, prayed and said the Pledge of Allegiance before breakfast.  They definitely feed us well here!  In our Bible classes today we learned that God Knows What We Need!  He is a great big God who provides for us no matter what.  The two stories we talked about to show this were the Crossing of the Red Sea (A Great Big Escape) and the Manna & Quail in the Wilderness (A Great Big Feast).  

We just finished up lunch and will head to crafts and rest time before swim time in the Lagoon and Pool.  

Tomorrow I will post some pictures of Fun Hour and some of our fun Team Activities like Noodle Hockey and Water Baseball!

It is Thursday!  We only have one and a half more days of camp left and we are fitting in as much as we can.  The Bible classes are fun and our team activities are exciting.  Fun Hour is packed with talented kids and brave kiddos sharing with us the fun ways that they can be creative.  We are looking forward to another great day tomorrow!

Today has been a great day!  We learned about showing kindness and forgiveness.  The kids have been so wonderful with great attitudes and they have all just jumped in and participated in every activity.  It is hot out here, but we are staying hydrated and eating some very tasty meals!  Tonight we had our first Fun Hour (where kids get to show off their talents) and had everything from singing, baton twirling, jokes, piano playing, Taekwondo to skits!  We even had a little counselor silliness thrown in there.  I'm going to keep this post super short because we have so many pictures to share!  Enjoy and check out our Facebook page too!

Camp 2016 Has Begun!!

Today we welcomed all of your sweet children to New Beginnings Christian Camp 2016!  It has been a great start to our week.  After all the parents cleared out, the girls went straight to the pool to take the swim test and the boys spent time in their cabins getting to know the counselors and other campers.  After a quick snack, the girls went back to their cabins to get to know their counselors and other campers while the boys took their swim test.
The next activity was camp orientation where we learned all the rules of camp and the Brookhaven facility.  To get the fun started, we moved on to Wild Thing!!  This is a time to sing silly songs and get the wiggles out.  (pictures below)
Next we went to dinner and the headed on down to worship.  Worship was filled with wonderful singing and we just love to hear the sweet spirit and voices of these amazing children!
Marshall shared with us how the Bible is our road map on the journey of life.  We may run into obstacles, but the living word of God walks us through the darkest of times.
After finished up worship we had a quick snack (fruit and water) and then gathered again to finish up our day with meeting our teams that we will be doing our team activities with all week.  It is so fun to see so many new relationships starting on day one of camp between all ages!
