Gearing up for New Beginnings Camp 2009!

Another year is coming to an end and we are all hard at work getting things prepared for the 2009 session of camp!  The staff of New Beginnings Camp is excited and ready to share the word of God with the children who join us at camp this year.

We are excited to announce that you can now enroll your children for camp ONLINE!  We have a few different payment options that you can choose from as well.
If you enroll online you can:
1) Pay the entire registration fee of $200/per child online right away
2) Pay the registration deposit of $65/per child online right away
3) Send in a check for the registration deposit or entire fee
4) Or Pay-Over-Time: the registration fee is divided evenly over the months leading up to camp.

**The registration deposit of $65 is due with your enrollment form.  If you enroll online and wish to mail in your deposit, please send it within 7 days of completed the online form.

Please visit our website at www.newbeginningscamp.com for more details.

There is also a section of the website that allows anyone to make a donation to the camp.  These donations go toward scholarships for children who can not afforrd to go to camp and the general operating fun of New Beginnings Camp.

We NEVER want money to be the reason your child does not go to camp.  If you would like your child to attend the 2009 session of New Beginnings Camp, but you need some assistance, please go to our website www.newbeginningscamp.com and contact us.

We look forward to another GREAT year at camp and hope to see all of your wonderful children with us again!

Here we are at New Beginnings camp. I have added a few cabin pics on this page. You may go to http://picasaweb.google.com/NewBeginningsCamp/NewBeginnings2008OmaSPics

for over 250 pictures of our week. You should be able to download and print from this site.

As you can see we had a great bunch of kids! We had a few scrapes, bites and a couple of trips into the hospital, but we were able to overcome all these things because we were wearing the Armor of God. We really needed it, and it WORKS!
Ask your kids what they learned. Ask about their new friends and what they learned about themselves in this week while they were set apart from their normal routine.
Thank you for the opportunity to play, laugh and learn with your kids.
Rolling down a soft grassy hill, looking out over a lake early in the morning, self-serve food lines, lots of walking, swimming in a lagoon, working as a team...All these may not be what your kids will experience at home, but they made for great memories of New Beginnings Camp 2008.
Kids, keep that armor on and keep on the alert for the 'tempter'.
Much love to you all, Oma Karan

What a week- and we're not done yet!!

Hello blog readers-
Greetings from the beautiful woods of east Texas! Finally we have some pictures to post. A million apologies to all of you who have been waiting to see what's going on. We have realized that we don't have a vital component to effective blog posting- the cable that goes from the camera to the computer- oops! But OMA to the rescue- she has some great pics on her camera and I will try and post a few now. Please be patient with me and we will get some video footage up on here after we get home and you and your kids can relive the fun of camp over and over and over and over...
Enjoy the pics for tonight!

Satan Stay Back- We Have the Armor of God!!

Let me just say that we have some awesome campers who are already growing in the Lord!! Every time I turn around I see more and more examples of campers showing God's Love to each other.

What I can see from where I am sitting:

-two campers in our oldest boys cabin helping a fellow camper who has some physical challenges with the "hilly terrain"

-one of the girls from our youngest girls cabin holding the door open for her cabin mates without being asked

-counselors with sweat running down their face (even with the blessing of a breeze it's still really hot and humid) and still jumping in to work on team building and encouragement

-I see prayers being lifted up for campers and staff

These are just a few of the mighty ways God is working around this beautiful place! I've obviously made it back into camp after my whirlwind East Texas tour but now our wonderful camp nurses are taking a much deserved break and catching a nap while they can. We'll work later tonight to get the videos or some pics up on here.

Thanks for reading. Thanks even more for praying for us all!

We're Having Fun!!!

We are having a blast!!! This camp is absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! This is Juli Beth Ledbetter, Camp Nurse writing. I haven't been able to experience a full day of camp activities due to illnesses, but it looks like everyone is having so much fun! We've had bug bites and tummy aches, but it seems we are able to fix those real quickly when we realize what activity is coming next.

Okay, I'm working on getting videos uploaded to the blog. Please be patient while I wait for my tech savvy husband to return. He had to run into the hospital, for one of our adults, and make a deposit at the bank. He'll be back later and we'll figure it all out. I can't wait for you to see some video of this beautiful place.

GETTING EXCITED!!!!!!!

The registration period has ended and we are getting everything ready for our campers!!! The counselors, teachers, directors, and other staff are working very hard to make sure this next week will be one that will leave a lasting impression for your children!!! We are praying for this week and for your children.

REMEMBER: Registration begins 1:00pm on Saturday. Please remember to bring your medication statements and remaining payments, if any are due.

Letters were sent out Saturday morning with this information and a list of things campers will need to bring to camp.

Again, we are VERY excited about this week. Feel free to leave any questions or comments you have in the "Comments" section below. You do not have to be a blogger to leave a comment. Let us know that you are reading!!!
